Legacy
For more than 159 years, Saint Joseph Academy has been providing the children in our community with a quality, Catholic, Marist education. The Bloodhound network extends far and wide to all corners of the globe and the collective impact that our graduates have had at the local, state, national, and global levels is beyond noteworthy.
Success
Year after year, generations of compassionate, loving, global thinkers graduate from Saint Joseph Academy and embrace their communities with amazing leadership skills and passion. SJA Seniors graduate with a strong moral formation and are accepted into top universities and this year they are headed to, University of Notre Dame, University of Alabama, Oklahoma State University, Mississippi State University, Pace University, Southern Methodist University, Holy Cross College, University of Texas at Austin, Texas A & M University, Pepperdine University and Loyola University just to name a few.
Compassion
Saint Joseph Academy is built on tradition, family, service and community. Bloodhounds have always been there for each other and through this fundraising campaign, we know they will come together again. This year, the proceeds from St. Joseph's Day will go toward (1) Campus Improvements, (2) Tuition Assistance, and (3) Two Special projects to benefit our school created by our educators, Mary Beth Martin and Matt Curoe.
One of our amazing College Counselors, Mary Beth Martin proposed the purchase of a new and exciting web platform that would strengthen student's abilities in the college application and scholarship process. YouScience is an aptitude-based program that helps students discover their strengths and connect them with possible career paths. Additionally, YouScience helps students match college majors with career interests and provides a feature where students can identify potential scholarships in their preferred area of study.
Matt Curoe proposes to develop an Outdoor Gathering Space. This project would entail the purchase of outdoor furniture to allow for classes to relocate outside when we have beautiful South Texas weather days in a green space away from other classrooms where it will not be distracting. This outdoor space would also add an extra area for students to gather for lunch and host special group meetings.
