Army ROTC Purple Eagle Battalion

Pay it Forward by Giving Back

A fundraising campaign for Niagara University

Niagara University's Army ROTC Purple Eagle Battalion is a program of excellence that has ranked in the top 10% of all ROTC programs in the nation 4 of the last 5 years (out of 276 programs). Our program is comprised of approximately 60 Cadets who will commission as second lieutenants in the United States Army upon graduation. The Cadet experience at Niagara progressively increases in requirements and intensity each year until culminating with a 37-day Advanced Camp experience at Fort Knox, Kentucky during the summer following Junior year. Senior Cadets who successfully graduate Advanced Camp lead the Purple Eagle Battalion. Our program is comprised of daily physical training; academic instruction in the classroom environment; weekly tactical leadership labs in the field environment; and periodic weekend field tactical training throughout the semester. Our Cadets develop into confident, competent, well-rounded leaders during their time with the Purple Eagle Battalion and are recognized as leaders in academics, athletics, and throughout a diversity of activities on campus.

The very recent easing of COVID-19 restrictions in New York will allow us to hold our annual Military Ball on May 7th. The Military Ball has been a fixture on the Niagara University social calendar for nearly 70 years and serves as the last formal ROTC event of the academic year. It is an opportunity for Cadets to celebrate the successes of the past year and to farewell our Seniors prior to their commissioning. Our Cadets were not able to raise funds this year to the levels they normally would due to COVID-19 restrictions on a variety of activities. Funds are usually used to cover the expenses for Cadets and their dates to allow the Military Ball to be a “no cost” event for all Cadets. Your donation can allow us to defray any financial requirements for Cadets to attend the Military Ball.
