Rootstock 2020

A fundraising campaign for New Roots Charter School

Finger Lakes Youth Music Celebration

New Roots Charter School & Grassroots are excited to partner to present Rootstock. Rootstock is a celebration of youth music in the Finger Lakes and will take place on May 16th, 2020 at the Bernie Milton Pavilion in Ithaca, NY. Limited opportunities exist for young people to perform, as they often face complex age requirements and restrictions. This event is designed to create a safe environment for young people, and their families and friends, to enjoy musical performances and celebrate the skills, talent, hard work and creativity ever-present in our youth.

Our inaugural Rootstock festival in 2019 was an overwhelming success bringing together over 40 youth performers from the Central New York region. Young people had the opportunity to connect with each other forming new collaborations and propelling their artistic drive.

Rootstock encourages youth involvement in the arts by providing an opportunity for youth performers to connect with their community. Rootstock provides a professional performance venue and professional sound design, inspiring continued involvement in the arts.

We are raising funds to allow Rootstock to be an annual tradition that motivates and encourages young people to make music as a passion and positive use of their time.

Your donation to Rootstock helps us in all aspects of producing the festival, including:

  • Special events permit
  • Promotional and design needs
  • Facilities expenses
  • Hospitality for performers
  • T-shirts for artists and volunteers

New Roots Charter School is an approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
