Rising Tide Capital Season of Giving

Join Rising Tide's mission to transform lives and communities through entrepreneurship

A fundraising campaign for Rising Tide Capital, Inc.

1 in 3 children in America is growing up in a financially insecure household, despite one or both parents being employed.

Entrepreneurship has a critical role to play in protecting and building a path forward. With the right support, millions of aspiring entrepreneurs in the U.S. could create jobs and opportunities for their families and neighbors that will impact generations.
Living in low-income communities across the US are skilled women and men with the entrepreneurial drive it takes to start successful businesses. Their likelihood of success, however, is often limited by their level of business education and access to resources.

Since 2004, Rising Tide Capital has responded to this need. With a mission dedicated to transforming lives and communities through entrepreneurship, Rising Tide provides business development services designed to support the success of minority entrepreneurs from disadvantaged backgrounds.

We believe in the power of entrepreneurs

From NJ to California, Rising Tide's work is positively affecting entrepreneurs like Edna Rashid, CEO of NF Insulation, who turned her passion into profit. Her decision to start a business with her son Qasim was born out of necessity after her oldest daughter died. Suddenly Edna was a caretaker for her grandchildren and searching for a job that offered much-needed flexibility. At Rising Tide, she learned how to build a business through the Community Business Academy (CBA) and utilized the business service resources. She's since landed several contracts, including a deal as a subcontractor on the Verizon building in Newark.

Harnessing the power of entrepreneurship to bring change to her community, Hilda Mera, owner and CEO of S&A Auto Repair, is passionate about empowering women through educational auto workshops and seminars held at the shop. As an Ecuadorian woman and immigrant, she continues to break barriers in the male-dominated auto industry.

"Being an entrepreneur has been one of the best things to ever happen to me. The knowledge I gained from the CBA has given me the freedom to manage my business more efficiently and help others, and that has been the most gratifying thing for me." ~ Hilda Mera

Transforming lives and communities
Rising Tide has graduated 3,678 entrepreneurs from its Community Business Academy program, 90% of whom identify as African-American or Hispanic. Within two years of graduating, our entrepreneurs experience an average 134% increase in business revenue and a 53% increase in household income.

Now more than ever, entrepreneurs need our support. Rising Tide Capital hopes to raise $25,000 to help entrepreneurs build and sustain their businesses in a turbulent economy. Their success translates to job creation and economic opportunities in the neighborhoods that need it most.

Help us transform lives and communities through entrepreneurship! We can't do this work alone.
