Restoring our "Veteran" Duece & a Half

Every object has a story...our Deuce & a Half was born in 1952, but represents many thousands that carried soldiers & supplies in WWII, Korea & Vietnam.

A fundraising campaign for Homeville Museum

The Deuce & a Half (nickname for 2 1/2 ton 6x6 cargo trucks) was the workhorse of the US Army for over 40 years.  Ours has a canvas soft top over the cab and had canvas over the wooden bench seats in the back, cargo area.

Our campaign to restore our Duece & a Half is split into three phases:

        1. Preserve & restore the structural integrity through repairs and paint to the body
        2. Replace the canvas over the cargo compartment, to protect the wood from the elements
        3. Make it road-worthy once again so it can be driven in local parades

Please help us restore this Veteran back to its proud service tradition!
