Ranchester Lot Purchase:Donate Today, Build Tomorrow!

For the past year and a half, Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns has been on the search for land. With only two lots remaining in the Poplar Grove subdivision, the need for land has been a pressing area of concern.

We quickly found out that we were in a competitive market, and one which we were priced out of. The lack of inventory, paired with an increasingly inflated market, made the search very difficult-especially for single family lots. HFHEB changed course, and began searching for land which we could build multi-family lots on. The building of multifamily housing projects will allow for more efficient and cost-effective building, and aligns with our goal of serving more families.

Recently, our search led us to eight lots in the Stonebridge Meadows II subdivision, located in Ranchester, Wyoming. These lots are already platted for twin homes, and will secure us at least 6 more years of building affordable housing!

This is great news, and the opportunity we have been searching for!

The Standish Family Fund will match all donations toward the Ranchester twin home lots up to $100,000. This means your donation will be matched dollar for dollar! The Standish Family Fund has been a longtime supporter of Habitat's mission in Sheridan County. We are excited to work with them and the community to secure lots where we can build for the next six years!

Habitat has also secured a generous $100,000 grant from the Homer & Mildred S. Scott Foundation, contingent on us raising the remaining funds needed for this project.

Executive Director Jenny Craft of the Homer & Mildred Scott Foundation states,” This opportunity to secure eight lots and have builds outlined for several years is very exciting for the organization, TR Valley, and the families who will reside there. Timing is an issue with property in Sheridan County and the Scott Foundation definitely wanted to supper and partner in this project and encourages others to come on board.”

The Sheridan Press highlighted our big news in an article last week. Read the details here: Habitat seeks to raise funds for lots in Ranchester
