Raison D'être Dance Project was founded in 2017 by Erin Levy and Genevieve Trygstad-Burke in Bozeman, Montana. The idea was born out of their deep-rooted love of dance and music, and the desire to share their artistic passions with the community. Our purpose is to foster collaboration with artists, musicians, choreographers, and philanthropic organizations...while providing an avenue for innovative artistic visions and ideas. We will provide a series of educational programs to dance schools and companies throughout the Rocky Mountain region, including workshops with our dancers professionally trained in choreography, ballet, contemporary, jazz, injury prevention, and Progressing Ballet Technique. Our corps de ballet performs in academy productions to lend a professional aspect to dance schools. . We will provide free classes for our core company dancers, to ensure they can strengthen & improve on technique. As our company expands, we will take our productions on tour across the region to bring professional dance to areas that would not otherwise be served by professional dance companies. Our tours will include educational programs to bring into the public schools as well as dance schools. We need the help of the community to raise money in support of our professional dancers and musicians, and our outreach programs. Donations will go towards providing studio space for choreography and rehearsal, jumpstarting our outreach and education programs, buying pointe shoes for our dancers, and making costumes.
