Preacher has been moved to our rescue vet. He is in very bad shape. His eye will need to be removed but he is not strong enough to undergo surgery. We have a very long road ahead and he is admitted and will be hospitalized for a while. He is on multiple meds and his medicine has been changed and others have been more than doubled from where they were at. His lymphs are very swollen and xrays and blood work are being run. He is on a RX supplemental nourishment food to get some food weight and energy into him. He is dehydrated and is being given fluids and supplements.
He had to have an embedded tick removed from his eardrum this morning and his body has almost been rid of more than a thousand ticks. His body is sore and hurts with each movement. This boy has been tortured and suffered so horrifically. But no longer will he ever face such suffering and horror. His eye has sustained such a puncture wound that his eye must removed but he is to weak to survive surgery at this time so he will be hospitalized and praying he will recover soon so that he can undergo this first surgery to remove this horrible pain. He is on pain medicine to ease the pain not only of the eye but of the wounds all over. We need your help this boy needs it. Please help Preacher.~Preacher was a 911 dispatch call late at night, he had found his way into someones barn. He was in horrible shape and likely would have died if they had not found him and called for immediate help for him. He was likely dumped out in the rural country and found his way where he was spotted looking for a place to rest and food. It is in all belief that Preacher has been used for a baiting. He has sustained countless bites and scratches deep into him and over a long time frame. His eye has a puncture wound through it, he will have the eye removed soon as it is safe to put him under to operate on him.
Preacher is in deplorable condition. The list of his ailments vastly outweighs what isn't wrong with him. He is a brindle Staffie. This boy is currently receiving emergency veterinary care. He was seen at Shepherdsville and then he has been moved to our vet, Central Ky Animal Hospital.Ehrlichiosis positiveHeavy infestation of hookworms

Pictures truly do not show just how badly this kid looks. More so than his physical pains, Preacher appears to have shut down emotionally.
This is the look of a dog who has endured so much physical and emotional pain he cannot process what is going on.
He has not offered a single growl, snarl, nip, or sound. He merely will not respond to a kind word, soft touch, or presence of people other than to cower and tremble in fear and pain. He has no fight left in his body.
We WILL fight for him. As long as there is still something left in that boys face and being that tells us he isn't done completely yet, we will continue to push on. EVERY LIFE IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR AND EVERY LIFE IS WORTHY OF LIVING. We have a long road ahead to heal him both physically and mentally so will you stand up and be his voice. Will you donate just $10 to help him in his long journey back. Lets help him back to health and well being. Lets offer him hope love and promise. Let us stand on the word of Love. Preacher wants to be the one that will return to show those around he can recover and forgive and live happy and loving life. Lets stand with him.
He needs you and we need you to help him. You can donate to this fundraiser or you can call the vet directly.

** I am wanting to update on here to where we are at with this. Preacher has spent 6 weeks in the Hospital and finally was able to undergo surgeries, he has another likely to go. I will try and post a picture or two which are rather graphic. He lost his eye because it was punctured entirely through from the bite(s) through the eye that literally ruptured the eye which became horribly infected and sent infection raging through his body. He has thousands of bites and scratches new and old all over him. He had thousands of ticks with some having to have procedures to remove from his eardrum. This boy suffered so much and was giving up. We spent days praying god save him we will fight for his life please strengthen his spirit and soul to fight this battle for his life. He has done that. But we have raised little over $1300 on his behalf and have still over $6000 vet bill to go. He has undergone around the clock care and we have struggled to live but he has done just that. Surgery was also preformed to remove masses off his spine. One was a mass of scar tissue from so many horrific bites. The other was a massive worm!! Yes.. Pictures of it are available. His surgeries were recorded and captured in pictures as well. He still has two more masses to go for surgical removal.
We need to fill this or we can not do more. Preacher is alive because we never gave up on him, each life is valuable. He has a story to be told one day. Will you help so that he is able to do that and to share that story with the world of his survival and his journey and how he went through hell but has come out because of the love of so many.
Believe with us that all life is worthy. That breed or your color or your past does not make your future pointless or make you less valuable and less worthy.
Your donation of any amount will help us cover this baby and will allow us to share his story with so many. But important as that it will allow us to not stop and close our doors but will allow us to save the next Preacher that is always in need.
