As the local safety net hospital, Kern Medical has the unique opportunity to care for the most vulnerable in our community. Many of the vulnerable patients we care for are children. Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a Level II NICU with 28 beds. Many of our tiniest patients have significant health problems caused by premature birth, lack of prenatal care or substance abuse problems during gestation so they have to stay with us for longer periods of time.
A gift to our NICU helps provide our tiny patients with items that are needed to stimulate them and provide them and their families with additional comfort during their extended hospital stay.

$25 can help purchase 1 crib mobile to help stimulate our NICU babies.
$100 can help purchase 6 Boppy Pillows or 5 Nursing Covers.
$200 can help purchase 2 swings to help sooth our NICU babies.
