Event Information

Saturday, July 18, 2020 from 12:00am - 12:00am

Dear Dragon Boat Nation!

After much research and discussion (as well as quite a bit of angst), we have come to the sad conclusion that the Habitat for Humanity 2020 Dragon Boat Race & River Festival will not take place. Our primary concern is for the safety of everyone - be they paddlers, volunteers, staff, supporters, spectators and others. The logistical challenges imposed by health and safety guidelines as well as regulations and requirements issued by various authorities make it virtually impossible to stage a dragon boat race or any type of festival in the near future. We are indeed disappointed.

Your support of, enthusiasm for and generosity to Habitat for Humanity is immensely appreciated. From the bottom of our hearts, we extend our heartfelt thanks to you all! The Covid-19 health pandemic crisis has and will continue to have long ranging impact on our community. Families, businesses, non-profit organizations and others have been adversely affected in so many, many ways. However, we have also seen great acts of heroism, kindness, unique innovation and new opportunities. Here at Habitat for Humanity - staff, volunteers and partner families have been diligently working and looking ahead to the future on how best to advance our mission of providing affordable home ownership.
Exciting plans are in the works. Stay tuned for announcements and updates coming soon!
Your Friends at Habitat Dutchess

At Habitat for Humanity Dutchess, we build homes. We believe that everyone, everywhere should have a healthy affordable place to call home.

  • We build because we know that children are 25% more likely to graduate from High School and 18% more likely to attend College if they live in a home owned by their parents.
  • We know that children are healthier in family-owned homes.
  • We know that a decent home gives families the strength, stability and independence that they need to create a better life for themselves and their children.

We build with families not for families.
