Although 2020 has been hard on everyone, Alive believes so much in our community and our teens, we are opening another center!  Our newest satellite location will open in January 2021 and we are dedicating a portion of the funds raised on Giving Tuesday 2020 to support Alive@Community- our new location in downtown Aurora.  

Thank you for helping us raise $55,000 on Giving Tuesday - December 1st, 2020!

We have $22,500 in matches on the table for this special day!  

This means that every dollar you donate, will be doubled on this day only!

As COVID-19 continues to challenge all of us to lean into uncertainty, we know that for young people in particular, staying hopeful and finding ways to cope with our ever-changing reality can be very challenging.  Your support will ensure local youth in Naperville and Aurora will continue to find connection with their peers, are supported by compassionate adults, and expand their learning opportunities during Alive's free after school Drop-in hours.

Being a teenager is difficult no matter what, and the Coronavirus is making it ever harder.  Teens are missing out on events with friends, hobbies, sports, and the daily moments in school that foster resilience and growth.  Until recently, the biggest social concern teens faced was bullying; this year it is loneliness.  Teens who feel isolated or anxious are encouraged to find ways to connect with peers and balance the time they spend on-line by exploring their creativity and pursuing new passions.  This is exactly what we provide at Alive! Our after-school Teen-Led, Teen-Driven (TLTD) programs not only offer healthy distractions and the chance to make new friends, but also the opportunity to

foster leadership for our high school teen leaders.  



Nikita Jacob, 14, tells us, “I like that even though there are staff members, many of the activities are led by teens. We do activities and projects that teens are interested in. It also helps in interacting with others even during this pandemic.”



Due to increased challenges brought on by COVID-19, the progress and well-being of the young people we serve is at risk.  Your support and generosity are needed today more than ever.  We believe the best way to a brighter future is through our youth.  We are asking for your support to ensure we may continue to serve our clients while keeping The Alive Center financially stable.
