A fundraising campaign for Upstate Capital Association of NY

Make a difference to aspiring entrepreneursYour contribution is tax-deductible through Upstate Capital’s educational arm, the Capital Foundation of New York, a 501c3 organization. The NYBPC, powered by the Upstate Capital Association of NY, provides a platform for emerging entrepreneurs to compete on their hard work and ingenuity.

Get a 20% match for your money! The Techstars Foundation will support and promote the NYBPC globally. The Foundation and the NYBPC share the same mission: to make innovation and entrepreneurship more accessible and inclusive. The Techstars Foundation invests in and accelerates nonprofits that deliver scalable impact for underestimated entrepreneurs. The Techstars Foundation has selected the NYBPC to be one of only three programs globally to support in the first quarter of 2022. The Techstars Foundation will match 20% of every dollar raised by March 31, 2022, up to $25,000. They will provide mentorship and resources for NYBPC participants and leadership. This is a great opportunity for global visibility for both the NYBPC and its supporters throughout the Techstars network.

The NYBPC supports:  

  • Launching student-led ventures

  • Commercializing innovations coming out of universities and colleges

  • Cultivating entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial mindset in students

  • Building personal networks for success in business

  • Showcasing student achievements for colleges and universities 

Impacts since 2010:

  • More than 6,000 students have competed since 2010, building their entrepreneurial skills and mindsets and making connections with hundreds of business leaders serving as mentors and judges. 

  • The NYBPC has helped to launch over 100 student-led ventures, awarded over $1M in prizes, and generated more than $100M in economic impact.

Notable past competitors include PurpleSun, Farther Farms, Buffalo Automation, SparkCharge, Vyv, Glauconix and many others.
