Our volunteers are committed to providing quality patient care with true compassion. The Town of Montgomery Ambulance Corps voluntarily services the communities of Montgomery, Walden, Maybrook, Coldenham and portions of Hamptonburg with emergency medical services as a totally volunteer-driven organization. We rely on the members of our community as donors, active members and volunteers. Please support or join us today!
In small communities such as ours, the ambulance corps is not funded through taxes, but is a separate 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation staffed by community volunteers. As a totally volunteer agency, being able to provide the appropriate lifesaving care and services is vital to our organization’s effectiveness. Unlike many of our contemporaries, volunteer membership remains strong. In 2015, our volunteers gave 11,041 hours of service to the Town of Montgomery. Their service is valued at $276,025. In 2015, the corps was dispatched to 2,189 calls including 28 standby calls for public events and 15 mutual aid calls to neighboring towns. Without the presence of these dedicated volunteers, our community would be without a local Emergency Medical Service system and would have to rely totally on services from paid agencies who may be stationed in more distant communities.
We rely on donations and medical billing to cover our operating expenses. This provides a significant challenge as New York State regulations dictate strict training, vehicle and equipment standards. Our volunteers do all or most of our fundraising and our organization desperately needs to replace outdated equipment. Your donation can help make that happen. A new ambulance costs $180,000 without supplies or equipment. We are asking your to help us raise the money to purchase a replacement for our sixteen year old ambulance.
