Women LEAD is a new initiative led by Michelle Tarryk and Barbara Morrow with over two dozen female leaders from the Kingdom created to foster leadership for girls and women in the Northeast Kingdom. This is in alignment with recommendations from the recent NEK Collaborative Leadership Development Task Force Action Plan.
Women LEAD launched with a fundraiser at The Eastside on Monday, March 25th. The fundraiser included complimentary appetizers, a cash bar and the chance to hear from several collaborators including:
- Michelle Tarryk of Northeast Kingdom Learning Services, Inc
- Katherine Sims of NEK Collaborative
- Alice S. Kitchel the State President of Business and Professional Women's Club
- Sunny Noelle Naughton of Northeast Kingdom Young Professionals Network
- Vermont Photographer Mary Claire Carroll who shared her talents in photographing our female leaders
NEK Women: Setting the Pace, a 12 month inspirational calendar featuring female leaders in the NEK will be on sale for $15. Funds raised will go towards leadership opportunities for young women in Orleans, Caledonia and Essex counties.
