A Vision for a Summer in the Great Outdoors!

Support the future of Primitive Pursuits

  1. Dear families,

The mission of the Primitive Pursuits experience could never be more relevant and needed than it is right now. With hope in our hearts, we stand by our vision for an amazing summer to come, with awe-inspiring adventures that lift our hearts and minds and prepare our children for the future.

Will you stand with us? Will you support the very survival of Primitive Pursuits, as you know it, by signing up for the adventure?

With the help of federal stimulus money and some temporary staff reductions, we are mostly doing just fine for the next 8 weeks. We are continuing to develop online nature mentoring programs and making contingency plans for what comes next. The question of summer camps happening or not could be a make-it-or-break-it question for us. Even with a full offering of camps, it is clear that we will be needing help to get back on our feet. So to be honest…

We are needing your support right now! Please consider how to support us in one of three ways, whether you have children in your care or not:

      1. Got kids? Sign up for camp! All 2020 camp fees are refundable if camps are canceled for Covid-19.
      2. Make a donation to this fundraiser – for camp scholarships and organizational survival.
      3. Share our call for help with friends and family – tell them how important PP is to our future.

We ask you to sign up for camp so we can assure our stakeholders that supporting us through this hard time is worth it. Also, as an organization that puts every last penny back into programming for those who need it, we will need this cash to get our camps started once we have the go-ahead.

Rest assured we are not spending the money collected for summer camp until we know that camps will run. We are committing to pay back camp fees if we find ourselves in the unfortunate circumstance of summer camps being canceled. So you can now sign up without fear of losing your money. But your continued support shows a clear sign that you believe in our work and want to help us through this!

If you do not have kids to send to camp, please support the kids in your community that need time in nature in order to be healthy, competent earth citizens of the future. Make a donation and help spread the word for our fundraiser!

More than ever, kids need connection to each other, kids need kinship with a living, thriving earth and they need support connecting to their best self – full of curiosity, wonder and well-being. That is the work of Primitive Pursuits. Please let us know loud and clear how important that is to you by signing up soon!

We urge you to hold out hope with us; that the need for social distancing will pass with the coming of summer, and we will be free to run in the woods together again, learning, exploring and feeling truly alive.

As a team of passionate nature enthusiasts and caring mentors, we spent many weeks this past fall creating our vision for next summer. We designed programs to serve the needs of your kids growing up strong and capable in a quickly changing world. We hope you remember our faces now as the people you trust to carry this vision for our children. We hope you see our passion for the work we do and are inspired to support us in this most critical time.

Without your support right now, the sun may be setting on the future of Primitive Pursuits.

We are here for you – for your kids! Thank you in advance for considering how to be here for us!

    With gratitude,

Jed Jordan

Take note of Section 2204 of the new Charitable Giving Incentive which creates a new above-the-line deduction (universal or non-itemizer deduction that applies to all taxpayers) for total charitable contributions of up to $300. The incentive applies to cash contributions made in 2020 and can be claimed on tax forms next year. The law also lifts the existing cap on annual contributions for those who itemize, raising it from 60 percent of adjusted gross income to 100 percent.
