Free Music Classes for Children on Make Music Day!

Help us fund music education classes for children in Buffalo and Niagara Falls on June 21!

Your support will help us host high quality music classes for the community and allow our kids to know the true power of music!!

Arts Services Initiative of WNY (ASI) is partnering with Young Audiences of WNY (YAWNY) to host educational workshops for children in the city of Buffalo and Niagara Falls on June 21st, 2018 to celebrate Make Music Day!

Make Music Day is a worldwide celebration of music where communities in more than 120 countries are invited to play music on the Summer Solstice, June 21.

During these workshops, children will
  • Learn the history of music;
  • Learn how to create their own instruments; and
  • Learn how to play instruments.

These free workshops will be taught by teaching artists from Young Audiences of Western New York (YAWNY) at Larkin Square, the Erie County Public Library and the Niagara Falls Public Library throughout the day.

The workshops will provide an educational component by providing the historical context of music. They will also encourage kids to use their imagination while learning how to play music.

ASI and YAWNY will use our resources to reach out to youth centers, community groups and other organizations to invite children of all backgrounds to participate in these classes.
