Messages for Meds 2019

CommunityHealth is fundraising to support our MedAccess Chicago Pharmacy, which provides life-saving medications at no cost to low-income, uninsured adults.

A fundraising campaign for CommunityHealth

Messages For Meds is CommunityHealth’s volunteer-driven online giving campaign to support our MedAccess Chicago Pharmacy.

Accessing affordable prescription medications is one of the greatest challenges facing low-income, uninsured individuals; even a small fee through low-cost retail pharmacy programs can be cost-prohibitive. Last year, over 37,000 prescriptions were filled at CommunityHealth’s MedAccess Pharmacy at no charge to our patients.  We are fortunate to have partners who donate medications to our pharmacy for distribution, but we must purchase a significant number of additional medications each year to ensure our patients always have access to the treatments they need to be healthy.

Because of the incredible value provided by donated medications and our volunteer model, it costs an average of only $54 to provide free medications to one patient for an entire year.  And, our unique model of allows us to stretch your donations exponentially, so that your gift will make a huge difference in our pharmacy. Here are some examples of the value* of your donation. (*These are based on the average cost of medications per patient at CommunityHealth.)
