About Lyricism 101
Lyricism 101 is a program designed to cultivate and amplify the powerful voices of Club teens, giving them an opportunity to tell their stories, build community, and express their artistic visions through hip-hop music. Teens involved in Lyricism 101 learn about music writing, music production, video production, and the nuances of music business practices and leave the program with networking skills, enhanced writing ability, and much more.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany successfully launched Lyricism 101 in 2018, recording over 40 songs along with video production workshops, live performance field trips and music video productions. Our goal for 2019 is to grow our Lyricism program in Albany while exploring collaborative partnerships with local artists and radio stations.
While the holiday season is a joyous time to celebrate with friends and family, we ask that you remember those in your community who are less fortunate. This year we ask that you include the teens of our Club in your holiday plans. Your support will help us purchase supplies like sound proofing material, new speakers, additional microphones, a mixing board and headphones. All of these items will help us in continuing to transform a section of our Teen Center into a fully functional recording studio.

About the Club
The Boys & Girls Club of Albany (BGCA) is a cornerstone in the Albany community. Serving over 2,500 youth every year, BGCA provides a safe, structured, and positive environment for young people after school, during holidays, and summer vacation. The Club is more than just after-school care; BGCA runs tested and proven Local and Nationally recognized programs that address today's most pressing youth issues, teaching young people the skills needed to succeed in life.
