LOMC Giving Day

Connecting God, people and nature.

A fundraising campaign for Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center

We are not just a camp for kids and not just for summer!  At Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center (LOMC), we ARE the Church in outdoor settings, and we serve ALL God's people, youth and adults, year-round!

Everyone who enters camp has a need they're looking to fulfill, whether it be a child or an adult. The need could be to get away from life's mundane and chaotic schedule, to make new friends, to encounter a new adventure, or to be alone with God. We come alongside whomever and wherever you are in your journey to meet all those needs and more! We provide faith-based experiences to grow self-confidence, relationship with others, appreciation of God's creation, and dependence on his unwavering Word of grace and love.

Do you know just how powerful a camp experience can be? More than 5,000 summer campers have participated in the Effective Camp Project or Power of Camp study over the past three years. On the last day of camp, 91% of these campers agreed that they were strengthened in their faith. Three months after camp, 83% of responding campers agreed that they felt more confident in themselves since returning home from camp, and 87% agreed that camp had a significant impact on their lives. Now, these are great results worth continually striving for and supporting!

2019 marks 45 years of outdoor ministry for LOMC!! This LOMC May Giving Day, consider making a $45 gift to support our mission, or stretch that goal by doubling it, in honor of our anniversary! May we continue to keep blessing our guests and make a lifelong impact for many more years to come!

We're aiming to raise $10,000 for our Ministry Fund to help keep our operations running efficiently. You can make a donation online through this secure site and immediately receive your tax-deductible donation receipt.

Giving Day Success - You Did It!

June 5, 2019

Friends of LOMC,

You made it happen! We smashed our goal! The campaign has closed and the FINAL numbers are in. We received a total of $11,025, 110% of our goal, with a total of 110 donors and 7 Fundraising Champions! WOW.

We are so grateful for this incredible response and collective effort, including gifts from our Board of Directors, our fundraisers, and all of YOU!

Thank you for being good stewards of His provisions and sharing them with us. Likewise, we will invest these funds directly back into programming, staff, and facilities to provide the quality and standards you would expect of our ministry of 45 years!

There are other ways to remain involved with LOMC. Follow us on Facebook to hear about upcoming events and see our ministry in action. We’re always looking for volunteers on-site to help with projects. If you’re local/regional and have special gifts you’d like to share like landscaping, construction, housekeeping or spending time with kids, we’d love to hear from you!

Please stay in touch with us by keeping current contact information on file, an email and/or mailing address, to ensure a proper thank you and a tax-deductible letter is provided to you.

We are humbled and grateful for your devotion to LOMC.

In His Service,

Adriana Plocinski, Development Director

We are so thankful for your support, and we couldn't do this without you!

We have felt the love by your generosity in giving for our 3rd annual LOMC May Giving Day! As of this morning, we are 89% to our $10,000 goal and have received $8,935!!

Although Giving Day is over, the opportunity to give remains open. Our team of Fundraising Champions will continue their efforts, and this site will remain open through next Monday, June 3rd. It's not too late to help us complete our goal!

Our Board of Directors, year-round staff, and summer staff THANK YOU for your support of our ministry celebrating 45 years! We are fortunate for the support from all 3 ELCA synods.

"I thank my God upon every remembrance of you," (Philippians 1:3) for your fellowship in the Gospel.

Thank You and Updates

May 28, 2019

THANK YOU all for your generous giving! We are more than halfway to our goal with $5,305 funds raised! Praise God!

Our matching gift has been completed, and we need just 12 more donors to have our 45 donor challenge met, which gives a $450 donation from a Board member.

We couldn't do what we do without your support. Thank you!

About the Organization

Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center

Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center (LOMC) is a summer camp and year-round adult retreat center. Resting on 640 acres of forest, pond and prairie, we are located in the heart of northwestern IL and the Rock River Valley in the town of Oregon. We have a friendly year-round staff and 30+ summer staff dedicated to providing quality facilities, service and programming.

There is a camp, retreat, or activity for everyone! We work cooperatively with congregations and individuals to customize a camping or retreat experience to meet their needs. Youth can choose from a variety of one week-long summer camps, and youth and adults alike have year-round camping and conference retreats offered in an attractive setting.

Our mission is to be the Church in outdoor settings, nurturing Christian faith and providing experiences connecting the Word of God with the World of God.

LOMC is a ministry of the Northern Illinois Synod, Central/Southern Illinois Synod and Metropolitan Chicago Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
