Rochelle came to Lifeline PRC when she discovered she was seven weeks pregnant with her fourth child. A single, working mother of three and a nursing student at Austin Community College, Rochelle was overwhelmed by the thought of going through another pregnancy and raising another child alone. “I was scared, confused, indecisive and physically and emotionally drained,” Rochelle recalls. “So many thoughts were running through my mind about this unexpected pregnancy, but after speaking with the women at Lifeline, I began to feel secure in the idea that I could move forward with my pregnancy.” Rochelle attended parenting and birthing classes and took advantage of Lifeline PRC’s free counselling program. Through our point-based system, she also earned credit to “buy” helpful baby supplies like diapers, baby clothes and more.Lifeline Pregnancy Resource Center is a new program at Mission: Possible! Austin, who has been serving families in need since 1992. One of the greatest needs is services for women who are or think they are pregnant. Lifeline Pregnancy Resource Center was started to meet the overwhelming need in East Austin! Moms like the Rochelle listed above, are generally coming out of a crisis situation. They are scared, they are trying to determine what to do with this new baby, and they are looking for answers.
It is our goal to love our neighbor by encouraging women to preserve the life of their baby. If you are pregnant, or think you are pregnant, we would love to help answer any questions you might have. Because we care we offer a variety of free services:
- CPS approved classes
- pregnancy tests
- sonograms
- parenting & life skills
- material goods (diapers, formula, etc.)
- health & community referrals
- confidential and continual support
Our “Give 2 Live” Campaign is focused on the Lifeline Pregnancy Resource Center. Listed here are some common giving levels:
- $500 cover one month of rent in a temporary housing unit for an at-risk woman in our program
- $300 covers the costs of supporting a woman and her baby through our program
- $100 covers the cost of food and formula for two weeks
- $50 covers the cost of diapers for two-three weeks
