Leverett Elementary School (LES) is committed to experiential education, and the school is committed to continually taking advantage of its outstanding local resources. LES is situated at the edge of the Doolittle Brook Conservation Area, providing the opportunity to teach important lessons about the flora and fauna. LES is also a short distance to Morse Hill Outdoor Education Center in Shutesbury, an award-winning nonprofit dedicated to outdoor adventure and team-building programs.
The LES PTO Valley Gives campaign is designed to support both the continuation and expansion of science and nature-based experiences at the school and throughout the region.
With your support, LES students will be able to make better use of the outdoor space with upgrades to play equipment and to participate in the Morse Hill program as well as travel on field trips to destinations like the Connecticut Science Center, Upinngill Farm for apple picking, and Mystic Aquarium during the 2018-19 school year. These vital offerings are designed to enhance the existing STEM curriculum and give students an opportunity to experience, first-hand, the lessons they are learning in the classroom.
