Help Keep Printmaking Alive in the Finger Lakes

Join this exciting Community of Artists who want to promote the printmaking, paper arts and bookbinding methods in a local print shop.

A fundraising campaign for The Ink Shop Printmaking Center

The Ink Shop Printmaking Center is a not-for-profit printmakers' center, fine art press and gallery that offers professional facilities for the making of fine art prints. We provide a range of equipment  for etching, lithography, proofing and letter presses and computer imaging.

As a regional resource for printmaking, The Ink Shop offers workshops for professionals and the community. The Shop also organizes collaborative projects, group and exchange exhibitions and maintains artists' image files and portfolios for collectors and curators.

The Ink Shop Printmaking Center was established in 1999 by four artists/printmakers: Miri Amihai, Pamela Drix, Greg Page, and Christa Wolf.  As a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization and New York State Charity the shop operates on an all-volunteer basis, at least for now.  We are governed by an eleven-member Board of Directors, a three-member Artist Advisory Board and a three-member Executive Committee that oversees the day-to-day operations of the shop.  From the onset, The Ink Shop has been dedicated to operating a non-toxic “green studio” without using acids or solvents.

We are often reminded by visitors and reviewers to keep doing what we are doing. Arthur Whitman wrote in the Ithaca Times on May 14, 2015, “It’s not rare to find an exhibit at the Ink Shop that impresses with its display of professionalism, ambition, talent, and unpredictability. ...But it is unusual for the print shop and gallery to put together work of museum-level historical importance. Such is the case with their May-only show, which features paintings and works on paper by the late
Hans Peter Kahn.”

Were it not for our continued commitment to art and printmaking, our dedicated and hard-working membership and volunteer staff, and the donors and funders that make it possible to bring our efforts to fruition, The Ink Shop would not be the dynamic and unique organization it is. With your donation The Ink Shop can continue our commitment to keeping the art of printmaking alive and thriving in the Finger Lakes.
