Keep Monte Plata Healthy

Medical Missions to Monte Plata in the DR have paused due to COVID-19, but you can still help that community thrive!

A fundraising campaign for Live Greater

Each year, the community of Monte Plata in the Dominican Republican would receive a medical service trip, serving up to 1,000 people seen each trip. This was a vital source of care for a region with a critical lack of medical professionals. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has made travel to the DR impossible for most medical missionaries, stalling the delivery of critical services.

During medical service trips, a local team of Dominicans would provide support and assist the teams that traveled there. Now they are preparing to stand in the gap, for their community, and they need our support. Beginning this month, the local Dominican team will be offering basic health screenings, mental health support, and spiritual care to the villages around Monte Plata. Hoping to provide some coverage to a community without adequate health care during the COVID-19 requires quite a lot of consideration. The health workers will require basic medications, personal protective equipment like masks and gloves, and other tools.

We are reaching out to you for help. Can you help stand in the gap for a community that requires support? The pandemic has affected life in critical ways for the people of Monte Plata, but with this support, neighbors there can begin to heal and recover.

Right now, each and every gift up to $2,500 dollar will be matched by an anonymous donor, so you can double your impact!
