Ithaca Rotary Community Fireworks - 7/3/2017

Lighting up the sky together!

A fundraising campaign for Ithaca Community Fireworks

The Ithaca Rotary Community Fireworks Celebration is a community event in Ithaca, New York. Organized by the Ithaca Rotary Club, and supported wholly through donations from the community, the goal of the event is to celebrate our community by providing an Independence Day inspired event that is free and open to all members of the public.

The event is co-sponsored by the City of Ithaca and the Friends of Stewart Park.

In order to put on the best show possible, every donation counts. While the fireworks show itself accounts for a large part of the budget, more goes right back into our community through paying for safety, cleanup and other services required for a large community event.   One change for this year is that we hope to also raise a little money for the Rotary Community Grant program, which funds non-profit projects intended to promote the quality of life in Tompkins County and the greater Ithaca area.

About the Organization

Ithaca Community Fireworks

Mayor Svante Myrick spearheaded the efforts to bring this important community celebration back to the City of Ithaca for the July 4th holiday in 2012. Ithaca Rotary is proud to continue the tradition in 2019.

“I worked hard to bring the fireworks back because Independence Day has always been my favorite holiday. It’s one night where every family – no matter where you live, how much money you make, or what your political beliefs are – can come together and look up at the same shared night sky. It’s a celebration of our Country’s independence, and a celebration of our entire community” said Myrick.
