Did you know that the majority of homeless in Bonner County are families with children?

Bonner Homeless Transitions has been serving these families and homeless single women for over 25 years! Our Blue Haven facility typically runs full with a waiting list and previously we had been fortunate to rent the house next door for many years.  This allowed us to expand our service in town. This house offers 2 of the largest apartments in our program and it is the home of our play yard.  We serve anywhere from 15-25 children with their parents at Blue Haven, and these 2 apartments have been vital to our service.  Located within city limits it is close to services, schools and employment. 

The time came last year that the owner of this house was ready to let it go.  With the help of the 2018 campaign and donors, we were able to submit our down payment, and purchase the house.  The purchase of this house has helped ensure a housing option for the most vulnerable of the homeless in our community, but has also created an additional financial burden to this organization. 

This year's campaign will assist us in reducing our outstanding mortgage, and reduce our financial burden so that more funds are available to maintain and run our program. 

We are not just a shelter we are a hand up to our neighbors experiencing hard times. We provide a safe place for children and their parents traumatized by homelessness. We provide supportive service for parents to get them on their feet and help them find permanent housing.
