Idaho Voices for Children is the only statewide, multi-issue advocacy organization for children at the Statehouse. We believe every child deserves a great education and a safe and healthy childhood. Voices transform children’s lives by advancing child-focused public policies and educating the public on children’s issues.
For more than twelve years, our nonpartisan advocacy has resulted in big wins for kids in Idaho. Today, we face a political climate that is becoming increasingly unpredictable and complex. Our children’s needs are at risk of getting lost in the shuffle of breaking news and polarizing debates, but our voice is needed more now than ever before. With your support, we can tackle a growing number of issues affecting Idaho’s kids and families at the state and federal level.
Wins for Idaho Kids and Families
2018 – We launched the Marilyn Schuyler Foster Care Advocacy Fund. Not only helping to pass the Foster Care Improvement Act (SB1341) this Legislative Session but also successfully advocated for state investment in the Home Visiting Program.
2017 – We built a strong health care advocacy machine that is defending health coverage gains for kids and parents.
2016 – We pushed for a solution for families trapped in the health coverage gap.
2016 – We helped secure $9 million to help kids learn to read well.
2015 – We worked alongside a coalition of early childhood advocates to push legislation that expanded early learning opportunities across the state.
2012 – We preserved $200 million in private child support payments by protecting our enforcement system.
2010 – We helped 10,000 grandparents/relatives become legal guardians of kids in their care.
Your support on Idaho Gives Day will give children a voice in the policy decisions that will affect their lives for years to come. Together, we can make Idaho a great place to be a kid.
