Removing barriers and providing access

As we embark on this year’s giving season, will you consider making a gift to the school’s Ida B. Wells Scholarship Fund? The J-School is training these future journalists (pictured above) to produce well-researched, complex news stories similar to the in-depth reporting of Ida B. Wells. This type of journalism builds trust, furthers civic engagement, and has impact. Recipients of the scholarship are all members of the Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting, a news trade organization dedicated to increasing and retaining reporters and editors of color in the field of investigative reporting.

Because of the support the school receives from generous donors, our Ida B. Wells Scholars can access a world-class journalism education rooted in ethical in-depth reporting, writing, and building trust. We hope you will consider making a gift today so we can bring the next generation of scholars to the J-School. Donate by making an IRA Charitable Rollover:  If you are 70 1/2 years or older, an IRS Charitable Rollover is a way you can help support the Ida B. Wells Scholarship Fund this year.  Ask your IRA administrator about making a direct transfer to the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism CUNY Foundation. You can also have your administer send a check from your account directly to the school at the address listed above.  The Foundation's tax ID (or EIN) number is 46-5195587.
