Who we are:
Horizons National Chicago (“HNC”) seeks to advance educational equity by building long-term partnerships with students, families, communities, and schools to create experiences outside of school that inspire the joy of learning. HNC is an affiliate of Horizons National (“HN”), a national network of out-of-school academic, enrichment, and social-emotional learning programs working with children and families from underserved communities.
Give Chicago students a summer they won't forget.
Join us in helping students on Chicago's South and West sides stay safe, sharp and strong between school years. In 2025 we expanded the program to two new cohorts within the University of Chicago Charter Schools (which serve the Bronzeville and Woodlawn neighborhoods) and we continued to grow our relationship at St. Catherine St. Lucy (which serves students from the Austin community).
Our long-term vision is to create a robust Chicago region with multiple sites across the city, serving students from neighborhoods in need. With your help, students will be taught by professional teachers, learn life-saving swimming skills, and experience Chicago's world-class culture.
Thanks to the Bluhm Family and Zoom Foundations and many other generous donors, we are exiting 2025 with great momentum and heading into 2026 with great enthusiasm for what is to come!
Your tax-deductible donation will help ensure our success for the 2026 summer, and expand the program in the years to come.
Why donate?
Closing the summer achievement gap between underrepresented kids and their peers is one of the most important actions to helping all Chicago students thrive. We appreciate your generosity. Donations made to this site are under the 501(c)(3) of Horizons National Chicago. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.
