HOPE FOR THE H0PELESS

We are committed to serving the individual, the family and the community as a whole, but not limited to churches, agencies and community organizations.

We are committed to be an added resource to the organizations that exist and become an added value to new and beginning efforts to eradicate homelessness, hunger and poverty for the constituents of the city of Elgin and surrounding areas.

We are committed to being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ by being there for our fellow man in his time of need by offering a holistic approach to their physical, economical and spiritual needs.

House of Restoration is a vital, faith-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is dedicated to serving and providing the resources to individuals and families that are experiencing hardship and loss, while also acting as a hub-agency to our community.

Individual empowerment, self-determination, and accountability are strong components of House of Restoration.  Our board consists of extraordinary, passionate and like-minded individuals committed to serving our community. Additionally, our board of directors is comprised of a professional group of talented individuals who are dedicated to committing their time and resources to provide the highest quality programs and services. Our diverse volunteers have ties to the community, and thus possess the unique ability to connect with our target demographic.

During the winter months, House of Restoration runs an emergency homeless shelter at First United Methodist Church in Elgin, when temperatures drop below 15 degrees. We welcome anyone in need of shelter to stay during these cold nights. We also provide them with a warm meal, beverages, and blankets during their stay. After they leave, we try to ensure that each individual has the clothing necessary to stay warm when our shelter is not open
