Home is the Key

Home is the key to measuring life's little moments.

Home is the Key is an annual nationwide campaign that takes place in April. This month-long event creates awareness about the need for affordable housing around the country, and raises funds to combat the affordable housing crisis. In Sheridan County, Home is the Key showcases the role the ReStore plays in supporting Habitat and its mission.

Home is the Key 2020 looks different than it has in the past. With the closure of our build sites and ReStore during the COVID-19 pandemic, the financial impact on our programs is one that is unavoidable, and will have enormous consequences. It most certainly impacts Habitat and our ability to build affordable housing in Sheridan County. That is why this year's Home is the Key campaign will be all online

Our goal during this month long campaign will be to raise $10,000. This is the average monthly operating cost of our ReStore. Reaching this goal will help ensure the longevity of Habitat programs in Sheridan.

Help us continue to unlock better futures for families in need by spreading the message that #HomeIsTheKey.

HFHEB provides approved applicants with a no interest loan and provides a monthly mortgage that, including taxes and insurance, does not exceed more than 30% of their gross monthly income.
Habitat homeowners help build their homes alongside volunteers and staff. From their time of approval into the homeownership program to the completion of their homes partner families dedicate 250 “sweat equity” hours on their own or others houses, providing...
