In May, the lighthouse invites the storm by Josh Drimmer, the winner of this year's Project Playwright Festival, is an ideal spring offering. Sometimes young, naive love is the hardest to forget, and when it comes back to haunt us later, everything is thrown into question.
In August, Come Back Up, a world premiere by playwright-activist Sarah M. Duncan. Buddy is young, black, and intellectually disabled; all he wants is to help his sister get to heaven. Come Back Up premieres in the wake of contemporary tragedy to rattle our views of forgiveness, grace, and social equality.
As always, our season finishes with the opening of the Project Playwright Competition. Hundreds of playwrights from around the world will share their work with us in a unique competition that celebrates the diversity and determination of rising artists.
