Two Broken Doggos Becoming Whole Again

It’s been a week of BROKENNESS here at SNIPSA. Broken legs and broken pelvises. So what does that mean? More medical bills and more repairs.

Our first is Azul, a devoted Blue Heeler, that suffered a fractured femur as well as a fractured pelvis. As nature often plays out, her femur had started to heal on its own and a fragment reattached itself to another area of the injured leg. As a result, a more extensive surgery was required to piece her leg back together and get everything in the right place again. She also needed an femoral head osteotomy (FHO) to address her fractured hip.

Our second orthopedic procedure involved Beau, a majestic Great Pyrenees, born with a crummy pair of hips. Having surgery back in November to fix his first hip, he was ready for round two. So off to the specialists he ventured to have his second side operated. Now sporting two FHO’s, Beau is living his best life recovering and getting used to moving around “pain free.”
