Help History Thrive!

The Bannock County Historical Museum building, now 27 years old, houses 1000s of locally important artifacts. It is in dire need of repairs and storage units.

A fundraising campaign for Bannock County Historical Society, Inc.

The Bannock County Historical Society has been in existence for over 95 years!  It's mission is to preserve the history of Bannock County, and educate the public about that history.  During the late 1980s the Society undertook a campaign to construct a building for the purpose of housing the many artifacts they collected over the year, and to provide space for exhibits and education programs for the public. In 1990, as part of the Idaho Centennial Celebration, the building was finally completed, entirely on donation.  Today the Museum building is full to the brim with donated collections, and at 27 years of age it is in need of repairs to the restroom, roof, windows, and HVAC system.  Spacesaver type storage systems are needed to maximize the existing storage spaces, and more safely house the artifacts. These repairs and storage systems are critical to the long term preservation of the artifacts the Society holds in trust for the citizens of Idaho and particularly Bannock County. The community rallied to construct this Museum because they believed the history of Bannock County was worth preserving and sharing.  The Society needs your help once more to keep this dream a reality for the next 95 years!
