Harry Jersig Speech and Hearing Center

A fundraising campaign for Our Lady of the Lake University

The Harry Jersig Speech and Hearing Center has been dedicated to serving the speech and hearing needs of children & adults in San Antonio and the surrounding areas for over 60 years.

Evaluation and Treatment are offered in English and Spanish for a wide variety of speech, language, swallow, voice and hearing disorders at no cost.

Services are provided by graduate student clinicians enrolled in OLLU’s Woolfolk School of Communication Sciences and Disorders, under the supervision of ASHA certified and Texas licensed speech-language pathologists and audiologists on the OLLU faculty.

3 Ways to GIVE BIG

        Be AACtive Communicators Program

This specialized summer program encourages children who are unable to speak, express their wants, needs and

feelings using a speech-generating communication device. These devices speak words and sentences by activating symbols or pictures, and give children a voice.

Aphasia Recovery Program

Our individual and group programs support the recovery of speech and language abilities following a stroke or brain injury. Participants gain the communication skills to improve their confidence and overall quality of life in a supported, interactive environment.

Querétaro Project

This two-week summer project is in partnership with the Congregation of Divine Providence at Casa Moye in Querétaro, Mexico. Bilingual graduate students earn clinical credit hours and provide much needed speech and language therapy to underserved communities in Mexico.
