Because of your generous support, Hanul Family Alliance has been able to provide supportive social services for children, minorities, seniors, and low income families in an ever-changing Korean-American community. Here are some highlights from our three locations
Chicago: Congregate Meal Program: Studies have shown that many seniors experience food insecurity which can be detrimental to their over physical and mental well being health. To ensure that our seniors receive a hot nutritious meal, Hanul offers the congregate meal program which allows our seniors to dine in a safe warm community setting among friends. Another great benefit to the congregate meal program is that it encourages individuals to attend one of the many activities conducted before and after the meal hours. Activities like Zumba, Karaoke, Korean board games, ESL, ping pong and many more.
Lake County: Adult Day School Program: This past April, Hanul opened its’ third location in Buffalo Grove to meet the growing Korean American population in Lake County. This meant our seniors and families have access to programs like the congregate meals, exercise, mental health counseling and socialization activities. Our goal is to provide more opportunities to serve more our community who live in isolation, lack resources and support.
Mount Prospect: Mental Health Well Being Program: This year Hanul became a state licensed mental health counseling agency which will allow mental health assessment and counseling for individuals and families. In addition, we provide caregiver support for families that care for their loved ones who suffer from all stages of dementia related diseases. The Mount Prospect office is also preparing to launch Memory Cafe, for individuals with Alzheimer’s or any type of dementia and brain disorder.
