#GivingTuesday for The Pass Along Project

Be a Fundraising Angel! Make a DIfference!

A fundraising campaign for Annie's Angels Memorial Fund, Inc.

The Pass Along Project has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Occurring this year on November 27, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the US) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

Be a Fundraising Angel

#GivingTuesday is a great way for The Pass Along Project's supporters to take the next logical step in their gift giving by moving from donor to fundraiser. It’s as simple as clicking a button to create a fundraising page to share personalized connections to The Pass Along Project and your reasons for being an ambassador for the cause. Set a reasonable goal, share your page with your friends and family, and check back throughout the day to track the progress of your fundraising efforts.

Who Does the Pass Along Project Help?

Each day 738 children enter the US Foster Care System, frequently due to a crisis situation at a moments notice. The most immediate burden on the Foster Family is the fact the children often come with nothing.

Imagine you suddenly have a child who will now live with you, who only has the clothes on their back. And aside from the financial burden of needing to purchase a full wardrobe for the child, you are not able to bring the child to the store right away due to their emotional state as a result of the horrific ordeal they may have just experienced hours before coming to your home. What would you do?

Support the Cause - Sponsor a Bundle

The Pass Along Project provides a clothing "bundle" to Foster Families at the time of a new placement. The bundle consists of a basic wardrobe of gently used clothing specific to the child's size and gender. The bundle is delivered directly to the Foster Family's door in their time of need.

We currently have 210 clothing bundles that need a sponsor at $30 each,  This is the average cost to finish a bundle so it's ready for delivery. Each bundle provides over $300 in clothing to a child in need.

How #GivingTuesday All Started

92Y − a cultural center in New York City that, since 1874, has been bringing people together around its

core values of community service and giving back − conceptualized #GivingTuesday as a new way of

linking individuals and causes to strengthen communities and encourage giving. In 2016, the fifth year of

#GivingTuesday, millions of people in 98 countries came together to give back and support the causes they believe in. Over $177 million was raised online to benefit a tremendously broad range of organizations, and much more was given in volunteer hours, donations of food and clothing, and acts of kindness.

“We have been incredibly inspired by the generosity in time, efforts and ideas that have brought our concept for a worldwide movement into reality,” said Henry Timms, founder of #GivingTuesday and executive director of 92Y. “As we embark on our sixth year of #GivingTuesday, we are encouraged by the early response from partners eager to continue making an impact in this global conversation.”
