The Youth Farm Project celebrated its 10th Growing Season this summer! We are thankful for a solid and vibrant presence in the Ithaca community. As the years have passed this project has grown, diversified and evolved. Today, the Youth Farm serves youth of all ages, actively engaging them in the food justice work so clearly needed at this time.
- 250 teens have graduated from our Teen Summer Program
- We now serve ~4,300 snacks per week in 6 out of 8 elementary schools - welcome Northeast!
- We have expanded our year-round programming. We work with young people from the Ithaca Waldorf School, the teen Social Justice Intensive, the GIAC Conservation Corps and LACS.
- Our Mobile Market and Harvest Box programs bring produce to senior living centers and Pete's grocery weekly.
- Elementary students who visit the farm for field trips are now able to learn about vegetables, chickens and sheep! baaaa.....
"Wow, I had no idea potatoes grown in the dirt. I wonder why they taste so good when I'm not supposed to eat dirt." - Enfield 2nd grader, Farm to Table program
