#GivingTuesday

Be a Fundraising Angel. Make a difference!

A fundraising campaign for Annie's Angels Memorial Fund, Inc.

Annie’s Angels has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Occurring this year on November 28, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the US) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

Be a Fundraising Angel

#GivingTuesday is a great way for Annie’s Angels' supporters to take the next logical step in their gift giving by moving from donor to fundraiser. It’s as simple as clicking a button to create a fundraising page to share personalized connections to Annie’s Angels and your reasons for being an ambassador for the cause. Set a reasonable goal, share your page with your friends and family, and check back throughout the day to track the progress of your fundraising efforts.

Support the Cause in Person

Annie’s Angels will have two locations set up for neighbors to gather information about the organization and programs, make donations and show support for the cause:

  • Visit the team from Lucas’ Helping Hands Oncology Program and You Matter Too from 3:00 – 8:00 at JC Penney at the Lilac Mall. Donations at this site will be matched dollar for dollar with a gift card by JC Penney to benefit the program. Present the flyer to Papa Gino's and 20% of your order will be donated to the program. For more information or to print the flyer, click here.

  • Or visit our second location at 900 Degrees in Epping from 3:00 – 8:00 to receive a chair massage from the Annie’s Helping Hands Oncology Program team. Set up a recurring donation at this site and receive a $100.00 off coupon code for a Jacki Easlick designer handbag. Details can be found here.

How it All Started

92Y − a cultural center in New York City that, since 1874, has been bringing people together around its

core values of community service and giving back − conceptualized #GivingTuesday as a new way of

linking individuals and causes to strengthen communities and encourage giving. In 2016, the fifth year of

#GivingTuesday, millions of people in 98 countries came together to give back and support the causes they believe in. Over $177 million was raised online to benefit a tremendously broad range of organizations, and much more was given in volunteer hours, donations of food and clothing, and acts of kindness.

“We have been incredibly inspired by the generosity in time, efforts and ideas that have brought our concept for a worldwide movement into reality,” said Henry Timms, founder of #GivingTuesday and executive director of 92Y. “As we embark on our sixth year of #GivingTuesday, we are encouraged by the early response from partners eager to continue making an impact in this global conversation.”
