Year-End Giving: Educate Youth on the Lake

Join Discover Cayuga Lake in connecting youth to Cayuga Lake through science and education.

A fundraising campaign for Discover Cayuga Lake

Help us provide hands-on experiences on Cayuga Lake this year through our Floating Classroom Program!

The Floating Classroom has been providing educational programming to children in the Finger Lakes since 2005. Students explore the human and natural history of Cayuga Lake with us, while participating in science activities aboard the Teal.  In 2019, we served nearly 1,800 students. Additionally, about 3,200 community members and tourists joined us onboard our boat, the MV Teal, for public eco-cruises and private charters.  We created a lot of wonderful memories, but we’re just getting started.  We're about to incorporate and become a non-profit organization.  With this come new challenges to overcome and new opportunities to explore!

We want to continue connecting our youth and community to Cayuga Lake, and we would like YOUR support.

During the month of December, we are conducting a 2019 Year-End Campaign. Our goal is to help more students participate in Floating Classroom cruises through their schools, camps, internships, and after school programs during our 2020 cruising season. Your generous gift will be used to offset our costs, ensuring that we can offer programming at flexible rates so they are affordable for all.

Every $20 will provide a 2-hour unforgettable lake experience for one student.

Please consider making your generous gift now, so we can continue making a real, lasting impact in the lives of regional youth as we connect them to the Cayuga Lake watershed in which they live.
