It is no secret that non-profits run on the generosity of others to exist. Here at Hooking for the Homeless, that is the only way we want to operate! We are an organic, grassroots organization intent on not only doing good where it is most needed, but existing solely on the efforts and kindness of our community. We are not corporate-sponsored. We are not corporate-run. Any good we are able to do is because you - yes, YOU - found our cause worthy of contribution.
We collect handmade knit and crochet items throughout the year, and it is the most rewarding achievement to see tubs upon tubs of donations earmarked for people living on the streets, in transitional situations, and who just need a simple kindness in the form of fiber arts. But there are realities to running a non-profit too - funding. And that's where this campaign comes in. We need funding to achieve our annual goals and expand our impact.
Our goal is simple: Get as many people as possible to contribute to our cause. It is the greatest way to build community and spread the word about who we are and what we do. And it's also reflective of our mentality - it really does take a village and our success is proof of this. Will you be part of something larger than yourself? Please help us help others as we wind down 2017 so we can ramp up for 2018. We cannot do what we do without you.
