The human need is too great to ignore. During the past 30 years, your generosity changed the lives of 348 people and there are so many more waiting in line for our help. We are in great need of increased financial support now and in the upcoming years. We hope and need to double our revenues if we are to keep helping as many families each year as we have in the past 30 years.
Jim was a dedicated Racine Habitat for Humanity volunteer and supporter since 1988, when for the first of many times, he took a week of vacation in the summer to help build a Habitat house. He spent 28 years building friendships with other volunteers and helping 86 families in Racine create a better life for themselves by building strength, stability, self-reliance and shelter. These efforts led Habitat families to better health outcomes in children, improved education and job opportunities, more community involvement and less dependence on government assistance.
He had deep appreciation and profound love for the important work that we do to change lives. He once told me that he continued to volunteer for all these years because “…the job is not done. We have a good reputation. If you give a dollar to Habitat it goes a long way….” Jim
In fact, for every dollar donated to Racine Habitat, 90 cents is used to fund our Local Build Program, along with all proceeds from our ReStore.
