To many of us, a life without music is inconceivable, and the Elgin Symphony Orchestra wants to keep the music playing!. Research has repeatedly proven music helps children learn, adults relax, and patients heal. In no uncertain terms, music makes life sweeter.
The ESO produces over 25 concerts each year with a world-class, professional orchestra and was recently honored as the 2016 Illinois Orchestra of the Year. With ticket sales covering only 40% of our costs, none of this would be possible without the generous donations from our patrons. We hope you will become an important part of the ESO family!
The ESO also supports your community through educational and outreach programs:
Musicians Care Program – Intimate ensembles and soloists from the ESO perform at local hospitals and hospice organizations to help heal and soothe patients and their family members during times of medical crisis
Family Concerts & Traveling Ensembles – We offer four free concerts a year at our local library, allowing over 1,200 children and their families to learn about classical music in a relaxed setting. Our Traveling Ensembles perform at many area schools, benefiting over 8,000 students every school year.
Concerts for Youth – Nearly 7,000 students from the suburban area participate in this highly successful annual program which combines classroom curriculum with an exciting and interactive concert for students.
The ESO is passionate about music. We believe our important role builds a strong community. We need your help now!
Please consider offering your financial support this Giving Tuesday as we continue to strive for excellence in not only our symphonic music, but also as we work to educate and support our community. FOR THIS DAY ONLY YOUR GIFT WILL BE MATCHED! The Grand Victoria Foundation is matching the first $5,000 worth of donations received via on-line here, today.
With your help, we can build a cultural legacy that will sustain our community for years to come.
