United Way's Women's Leadership Council is proud to be hosting: The Matt Urban Hope Center's Holiday Extravaganza

Cookie decorating, gift wrapping, holiday crafts and a visit from Santa are some of the activities that will be a part of the United Way's Women's Leadership Council Holiday Extravaganza for more than 300 children and their families. 

Kids will have the opportunity to:

• decorate holiday cookies
• Craft a holiday card for parents/guardians
• Choose a gift to go along with their card
• Wrap that gift all by themselves (with help from volunteers!)
• Visit with Santa and have their picture taken

Parents will have the opportunity to:

• Choose a gift for their child(ren)
• Have a holiday meal with their family

The holiday extravaganza allows families to celebrate the holidays together regardless of their financial situation. The extravaganza affords children the opportunity to experience the "traditional" holiday activities and feel like a normal kid if only for a few hours.  

For many families in this neighborhood this will be their only holiday celebration this year. 

We cannot do this without your support. Your generous contribution will help supply toys, wrapping paper, cookies, craft supplies and a holiday meal for over 300 families. 

With your support we can ensure that these families have a holiday celebration they will never forget, a warm meal they can enjoy together and a photo with Santa they can look back at for years to come. 

The holiday party will benefit families primarily in the Broadway-Fillmore community and will be held at Lt. Col. Matt Urban Human Services Center of WNY. The Matt Urban Hope Center serves families, many living at or below the poverty level, in the Broadway-Fillmore community and surrounding neighborhoods. The Center offers support services including housing search assistance, benefits screening, homeless assistance, financial education and job search assistance.
