People in your community and all over the world partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With your help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build a better life for themselves and their families . Habitat for Humanity of the Magic Valley (HFH-MV) and 450 volunteers have built the interior and exterior walls of a home to be built on land donated to HFH-MV. Funding for the completion of this home is needed to begin this life changing adventure for a single mother and her 5 children. Their current home is cold and crowded, but clean and neat as a pin. Vanessa and her family want a home of their own to grow up in.
In the words of Vanessa, our 50th partner family:
We are truly grateful to have this opportunity to own our own home. I am looking forward to an exciting journey with my kiddos, this opportunity will be a great way to show my kids what hard work and dedication can accomplish. It will show them that things are earned and not just handed out. My kids are super excited to start this new chapter in our lives. As of now, I and my five kid’s ages 2 years old to 12 years old are living in a small two bedroom trailer that is not in good condition. They are ready to have a home that they can call their own, with more room and way better conditions then what we are in now. Being able to give our time to help someone else fix their house has helped me and my kids grow as a family and we have grown to love others along the way as our family too. To see how happy they are just knowing they are a step closer to getting their dream house. I know that’s the exact feeling we get just helping them achieve that dream. This is an amazing family bonding experience that we will never forget. Thanks to everyone who is making it happen for us. A dream come true. Vanessa
