Joyce Told Us to Tell You (and We Don’t Argue With Joyce)…
"It’s rough being a dog some days. Not only do you have to scrounge for food, but sometimes you have to outrun the boys. And let’s just say, I wasn’t entirely successful. And before I knew it, I had nine little ones in tow! My cost of living went up - more groceries, less sleep, erratic hormones- the whole pregnancy was a challenge. And even finding a place to give birth turned into an adventure. But I made it thru and here I am to tell the tale.
If you’d told me I was about to go from street stray to pampered queen, I’d have laughed… but then SNIPSA swooped in and proved me wrong. They welcomed me into their office, bathed me, gave me the veterinary care I desperately needed, brushed me, fed me, photographed me and cared for my entire baby tribe. I could literally feel the transformation. It was like stepping into a Disney show or strutting onto a Fashion Week runway. And wow, did it feel good!
Which brings us to the question….do you really know what goes on in getting a puppy ready for its forever home?
Vaccinations, deworming, cleaning, feeding, socializing, cleaning again, charting weights, taking photos, posting profiles online, meeting potential adopters, spaying/neutering, attending adoption events, training, housebreaking, the list goes on and on.
So next time you are thinking about adopting a rescue, take a glance in the rearview mirror and think about all the time, all the love, all the commitment, all the dollars, all the heart, and all the “first responders” that make stories like mine possible."
