This holiday season is truly a time give thanks and to support organizations in our communities that not only make a difference; but push the arch towards positive social change.
The Chicago Torture Justice Center (CTJC) is a community center for Chicago police torture survivors. CTJC was established as a result of a historic Reparations Ordinance passed by the Chicago City Council in May 2015. The Reparations Ordinance provides redress for racially-motivated police torture orchestrated by Chicago Police Department Commander, Jon Burge that impacted the lives of many African-American men and their family members.
CTJC will open early 2017 and we need your support so we can offer impactful programs and services!
I would like to invite you to give to CTJC anytime on Giving Tuesday, November 29th. A donation of $10, $25, $150 or any amount can truly make a difference in the lives of survivors and their family members. To learn more about the Chicago Torture Justice Center, visit our website at: www.chicagotorturejustice.org.
I hope that you will become a CTJC supporter and make a contribution during this giving season.
