Give $5 for Alive - Alive is turning Five!

A fundraising campaign for Alive Center NFP

Be a helping hand and give $5 to Alive

Throughout May 2020, Alive will be celebrating its Fifth Birthday online!

In 2015, Alive opened it doors to our community's teens. Since then, we have provided over 10,000 teens the chance to discover their purpose by helping them explore their passions!

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help the Alive Center empower teens for another 5 years!

Every $5 donation to Alive will sponsor one teen to participate in an Alive after school Drop-In program or club! Your support sponsors a teen to attend a Robotics STEM club, a Hip Hop Empowerment Class, learn to prepare a healthy meal, create their own podcast, or simply make a new friend!

"When I'm at Alive, I feel like I can truly be myself because no one judges me or makes fun of me.  That is a really good feeling!"  Christine Clarke, Waubonsie High School Sophomore

"Alive has been a Godsend - especially when you can't afford adequate childcare! It gives me peace of mind knowing there is a safe place for my child to go to meet up with friends, make new friends and get support with homework while I am working." - Angel Armstrong, parent of Alive teens Shunya and LaShun

We empower teens to pursue what makes them come Alive! Almost all of our programs are FREE, providing teens in junior high and high school, both privileged and at-risk, the chance to belong, discover, lead, and build resiliency!  Our over 48 programs in STEAM, Media, Girl Empowerment, Community Service and Health & Well being are all Teen-Led, Teen-Driven  giving older teens the space to lead while mentoring younger teens who grow up to be the future leaders of Alive!

Help us build our future by giving

$5 to Alive today!

About the Organization

The Alive Center’s Teen-Led, Teen-DrivenTM Drop-in programs provide unique programming for local students to come together to learn, create, and socialize in a welcoming, safe, and supervised environment. During the critical hours after school and over summer vacation, our program provides teens and tweens with free tutoring, mentoring, classes and workshops on a variety of topics such as leadership, career development, healthy cooking, art and music, drug prevention and awareness, anti-bullying and cyber safety information, community service projects, STEM, media, and more. The majority of these programs are Teen-Led, Teen-DrivenTM (TLTD) to make them most relevant for the younger teens and tweens while giving the older teens a place to lead and innovate.

We are honored and thrilled to be one of the first teen centers in the nation that is serving both junior high and high schoolers, affluent and at-risk, through a peer mentoring model. It is a powerful peer model of teens helping teens where they all become empowered in the process.
