Star Wars Challenge

The Force is with You! You have the power to create the "Rosie's Heart Guide" and make Laura Townsend and Mike Osterhage dress as Princess Leia and Darth Vader!

Rosie, This is for you.

On January 16, 2017, our dear friend Rosalyn “Rosie” Dugger Bowers passed away due to a preventable medical error while recovering from heart surgery. Rosalyn was only 42 years old. She was an amazing friend, sister, aunt, daughter, and wife. She had the biggest heart and a love for life that knew no bounds. When Laura founded the Louise H. Batz Patient Safety Foundation after her mom, Louise Batz, who also died from a preventable medical error, Rosie was one of her biggest champions and advocates.  We will never be able to repay the kindness, compassion, and support that Rosalyn gave to all of us and her community over these past eight years. We will miss her so very much. We know that she and Mrs. Batz will be warriors for patient safety in Heaven and their legacies will live on.

Star Wars Challenge

Board members of the Louise H. Batz Patient Safety Foundation - Vivia Robertson, Betsy Baker, Tricia O'Connell and Margaret Gunn - are leading the Star Wars Challenge to raise at least $10,000 before the May 4th Bingo De Mayo event.

With your help, Funds raised will go towards developing a Batz Patient Safety Heart Guide, "Rosie’s Heart Guide", in memory of Rosalyn "Rosie" Dugger Bowers.

Should our Board members succeed, Laura Townsend and KSAT-12's Meteorologist Mike Osterhage will dress up as Princess Leia and Darth Vader during the Bingo de Mayo event on May 4th for your pure entertainment!

The Batz Patient Safety Heart Guide

“Rosie’s Heart Guide”

In memory of Rosie, the Louise H. Batz Patient Safety Foundation will develop the Batz Patient Safety Heart Guide, “Rosie’s Heart Guide”, to ensure all heart patients have the information they need and questions to ask at their fingertips during their healthcare journey, especially during invasive procedures.

To honor Rosie's passion for teaching the arts to children, we are adding “Rosie’s Roses” therapeutic coloring pages to all our adult and children’s versions of the Batz Patient Safety Guides distributed throughout San Antonio, Texas, and the nation.

Developing Rosie’s Heart Guide Will Cost at least $40,000

With your help, we can ensure more women and men with heart conditions will have a Batz Patient Safety Guide by their side during every doctor's visit, every medical exam, every consultation, and every surgery. Please donate to bring this much-needed tool to our community.

Click the photo to download your free Batz Patient Safety Guide now. Patients everywhere - men, women, and kids - have the opportunity to be a part of their medical TEAM. The Batz Patient Safety Guides and APP are designed to close the communication gap between doctor and patient, bring patients confidence in addressing their healthcare, and bring peace of mind during stressful times.
