Join AFP - Mid-Hudson Valley for a new concept in information sharing. Hear from four members of our organization who have been to the AFP International Fundraising Conference, ICON, about their experience, and from a past President of our Chapter who has served at the International level of AFP. Gather some important tips and tricks from this panel, have the opportunity to ask them questions about the value of the ICON experience (and the Chamberlain Scholarship program) and enjoy breakfast before breaking off into a fundraising cafe, where each panelist will tackle an area of fundraising covered at the conference. Each interactive discussion will take place in a separate area of the room and will include the sharing of ideas and best practices and last 15 minutes. You can choose to move on to another discussion at the end of that fifteen minutes, or stay at the current table. At the end of the hour, we will reconvene for a broad discussion of best practices gleaned with each topic.

Fundraising Cafe Topics to be covered are:

  • Major Gifts Fundraising by Melissa McCoy, Chief Advancement Officer at Abilities First
  • Peer-to-Peer Fundraising by Chris Smith, Chief Financial Officer at GiveGab, Inc.
  • Board Storytelling by Sarah Weikel, Director of Donor Relations at The Arc of Dutchess
  • Donor Behavior and Neuroscience by Liz Corio, Vice President of Development and Administration at Glynwood
