Fresh Snacks for Belle Sherman Kids!

A fundraising campaign for Belle Sherman Elementary School PTA

Support the Fresh Snack Program so all our students will receive fresh, nutritious snacks twice a week during the school day for free!

Belle Sherman Elementary school and your PTA  is very excited to announce the Fresh Snack Program has arrived! Every Wednesday and Friday ALL students in our school will receive fresh fruits, vegetables or legumes during classroom snack time for free (no cost to families/caregivers)!

Belle Sherman Elementary is very fortunate since we are only 1 of 3 schools in the ICSD that will receive the Fresh Snack Program this year, plus it is a great way to encourage health and wellness of our students.

What is the Fresh Snack Program?

-Local, whenever possible, fruits, vegetables and legumes (1/2 cup servings) are delivered to the students during classroom snack for free!

- Managed by Wood's Earth, which is a local farm that supports growing and sourcing healthy, local food http://woodsearth.com/fresh-school-snacks/

- Program includes Fresh Bites, educational messages (announcements, classroom lessons, etc) to support the fresh snacks provided

Benefits of the Fresh Snack Program:

Exposes ALL students to local fruit, vegetable and legumes

- Encourages nutritious food choices which leads to better academics, behavior, and life-long healthy habits

Convenient and easy! Food is prepared in the ICSD central kitchen and delivered to our classrooms

Since the Fresh Snack Program financial relies on grants and donations, we are seeking your support! If you are able, please consider donating. All donations of any value are greatly appreciated by the kids and families.

Thank you!
